I don't wake up the next day with sore muscles after doing weights at home, but I always felt it the next day after I was at the gym. Is this a sign that what I'm doing isn't enough?

Here’s the thing that a lot of people selling exclusively bodyweight training plans won’t tell you:

Bodyweight only training sucks.

Yes, it sucks, and not only sucks, it sucks enough that I felt the need to write the word sucks in italics.

That’s how much it sucks.

Yes, you’ll see the occasional jacked dude who claims to do only calisthenics. Usually it’s one of a few things, and often a combination:

a) They have stellar genetics.

b) They actually lift weights as well.

c) They lifted weights before and are just maintaining with calisthenics.

d) They are on steroids.

But make no mistake, once you are past a certain point, it becomes very hard for the vast majority of people to make any kind of muscular gains with just bodyweight. I was at fifteen sets of twenty on dips…not sore at all, and minimal growth, if any.

The same holds true for very light dumbbells or bands. They suck.

Anyway, in order to rectify this, you’ll probably need to do more, as well as use a good deal of variety in your training.

With a smart progression and challenging enough exercises, you can maintain for a while, but it’s certainly inferior to the gym, and I’m willing to fight anyone on that.

So, How to do a proper Body Training to Lose Weight and Gain Muscles?
